I'm glad I failed

I'm glad I failed
Got up and kept walking ahead
I'm glad I tried
Held on to it, although I felt tired

Was it my drive that kept me going ahead?
Or the strength gained on the way?
Was it the urge to take the lead?
Or the deep desire to succeed?

I'm glad I failed
Got up and kept walking ahead
I'm glad I tried
Held on to it, although I felt tired

Standing in the midst of a vast ocean
I wonder how to get to my destination
Don’t know which way to go
Just know I am gonna get there somehow

I'm glad I failed
Got up and kept walking ahead
I'm glad I tried
Held on to it, although I felt tired

In the Flow

I wish, I could feel this way all the time
In the waking hours, and the dreams
Experience the spells of magic
And, the spurts of rain
When ideas effortlessly flow through me
Transcending me to a world unknown,
To the places unseen

I wish, I could breathe life into a blank sheet
By weaving words into stories
Listen to the voice within
And the uncanny messages from the space
For, when the clock stops ticking
Merging reality with dreams
I feel alive, in the flow
The way, I am feeling right now

Amidst the gloomy night sky

Carrying a heavy baggage of pebbles on his shoulders
He walked down the unexplored lane
Stumbling over piercing thorns and boulders
He endured intense anguish and pain
The sweat dripping down his sunburned wrinkled cheeks
Often distracted him from his path
“They are like the divine dew drops adorning the leaves”
Said he, relentlessly refusing to head back
The mighty earth beneath him shook
As thunder roared across the devilish sky
“These clouds shower raindrops brimming with luck”
Said he, treading ahead on the path lifeless and dry

Traversing the horrendous storm and heat
He reached his long-awaited haven
Laying down the bag beside his feet
He arduously poured out its contents
His eyes shone with surprise
At the sight of the diamonds pouring out of his bag
He jumped with joy
Glad, that he endured the journey till the end

When the sight of success seems far fetched
Yet our indomitable spirit keeps us advancing ahead
Burdened by the baggage of hurdles and fears
When we still hold on to the strength deep within
When we continue to move on
Even when the world warns us to hold on
We create a magic
A magic of perseverance
That can transform pebbles of struggles
Into diamonds of our grandiose dreams
It can make us shine
Like a star sparkling amidst the gloomy night sky

A Friend named 'Curiosity'

Life seemed so fascinating back then
With my six childhood friends I had so much fun
Everyday seemed new
They taught me all the things I never knew
"Stop dawdling away your time" yelled my parents
Coercing me to ignore their existence
Taming their presence every now and then
I miss my friends named What, Why, Who, Where, How and When
Penning these words in their remembrance
I still hope for their magical reappearance

Crying clouds

Their eyes welled up with tears

Expressing anguish of losing the droplets held near

They were in deep pain

Realizing they would never meet their friends again

Those crying clouds in the sky got me wondering

Should we cry when someone close to us drifts away?

“Can’t I stop them?”,“How do I live without them?” the clouds thought

Visualizing a future that seemed cold and dark

Moved by the cloud’s anguish and pain

The sun squirmed towards them

With the hope of wiping their tears

And bringing smile back on their face

Awed by the sight of the bright and smiling sun

The clouds realized how blessed they were to find a new friend

Their eyes dazzled with delight

On the arc of the rainbow the clouds and the sun danced till twilight

Coz life is a continuous cycle of change

Where people come and go

All we need is a desire for change

And a hope for new

Joy and happiness would then glide into our lives

And brighten up our days with sunshine

The Seesaw Swing

Swinging on the seesaw
Rising up in the air
Then sliding back to the earth
Being up for long felt terrifying
Lying low for long seemed draining
Swinging up and down was joyous
Bestowing a perfect balance and bliss
It was gleeful and fun
And I could do it all day long
Wondering “Ain’t life also a seesaw swing?”
With never ending ups and downs

In the moments of darkness
We wish for a life of eternal brightness
When the path appears rough
We wonder why it isn’t smooth throughout
When you find yourself whining
In such moments of grief
Remember that!
Life is like a seesaw swing
Where we need ups and downs
Moments of success and failures
Phases of bliss and sadness
Coz our staying up all the time
Won’t let us value the world beneath us
And our staying down forever
Won’t let us grasp our dreams up in the sky

The Lonely Land

She found herself lost in a lonely land
Bustling with crowd but nobody to hold her hand
Trying hard to hold her head high
When others scoffed at the thought that she could fly

Feeling like an alien from a mysterious land
Unable to conform to the people residing in the land
Frantically in search of the one who could understand her
In a world where nobody thought like her

As she walked down the lonely lane
Stepping onto the leaves dry and frail
She was gripped by an interminable fear
Wondering what’s wrong with her

Should she listen to her inner voice
Or let it get choked by the outer noise
Living her long-held dreams
Now seemed like a difficult choice

Treading alone on the lane leading to her dreamland
With her dreams tightly clasped in her hand
She remained firm and headstrong
Still holding on to the strength deep within
